The great outdoors and a bit of Christmas

It's my turn to spotlight work for this months Craft a Scene challenge where we have an Anything Goes theme with a slant towards the Great Outdoors.

I really am so enjoying being on this DT, I'm always up for creating a little scene as lots of you know, so to be able to have a purpose to get all lovely and inky makes it double the fun.

I started with a piece of Fabriano watercolour card and stamped the hills and trees with black archival ink. Next I used cut and dry to add the water and sky with distress inks, then stamped the sail boat and hot air balloons twice, coloured with Aquamarkers and decoupaged. I also used Aquamarkers to colour in the hillside and sand dunes.

I also have a few shares of some of the samples I have made for Sir Stampalot using some of the new Penny Black Christmas stamps and papers. If you would like details of any of the products I used on these three they are all listed here.

Needless to say soon as I saw the above stamp I also saw hills and the obligatory sunrays, all very easily created with soft sponging and inking.

A little bit of inky indulgence on this one as well, resist stamping and another one of the lovely Frantage embossing powders, this one is called aged spice.

Finally a nice clean and crisp one using some of the new Madison DP's from Penny Black and the sentiment from the same set of the one I used above.

Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

The first one is a real stunner - especially with those hills & the boat. I love the dimension of those balloons too. The bird stamp is going to be such a useful one & I think you've really showcased it beutifully with your sunrays & hills. Of the two Christmas cards it's the orange/rust that sings out to me - especially the inking of that sentiment panel.

As always Brenda, your talent never ceases to amaze me. I love every single card and each one is completely individual and unique. I had a good ole giggle at your comment on my trinket box Brenda. It sounds like we are in the same decoration boat, lol......or should I say "undecorated" boat, lol. Our new kitchen was put in 2 years ago and I'm still looking at freshly plastered walls.....but......wait for it.........with sloppy painted swatches of different paint sample colours all over them AND torn off bits of sample wallpaper stuck on the walls with cellotape. We can't decide on paint or wallpaper! It looks like some sort of weird Damien Hurst exhibition, lol! The thing is, Im kind of getting used to it now......well you would after 2 years wouldn't you? Heehee. And thank you for popping over to my blog too my friend. Lee x

Who says you're not good at colouring images?! Both your scenic cards are simply stunning, Brenda! You've certainly been busy. Love your ideas for some fairly quick Christmas cards. Love how you have finished the blue ribbon and I would love to get my hands on that poinsettia die.

What beautiful cards once again Brenda. The one for Craft a Scene is stunning, that water looks amazing. I want to make a card for this challenge but I need to practice more, I cannot get my stamps to work like you do! And the sunrays in the bird one is a work of art. Also love the other two, the banners are so effective and of course the poinsettia is gorgeous. Michelle x

You are spoiling us with these four cards all in one go. Te scene at the top is similar to one I was working on a couple of weeks go. Unfortunately for me - I couldn't get both the stamping and the inking perfect on the same piece of card. Found several today while tidying my desk - and none I would want anyone else to see. Needless to say your one is perfect. I love the inking on the second one - and the stamp is very desirable.
Hope your weekend was enjoyable and next week will be the too.
